Eat more U.S. seafood!
U.S. seafood harvesting is subject to extensive regulations governing nearly every aspect of their operations, best ensuring sustainability and safety. One of the easiest — and certainly the most delicious — ways to support responsible fisheries is by preferring U.S. seafood. Support your local domestic seafood industry — “Buy American” when you can. Ask your local retailer or restaurant where the seafood they serve is harvested, and let them know the benefits of U.S. seafood.
Go fishing!
Recreational fishing is a great way to enjoy a nice afternoon or even a whole day! If you have the chance, get out there and catch a big one. Remember, retain only fish that are allowed by regulation and that you intend to eat or share with your friends. Release the other fish you catch as safely as possible. A few responsible practices will go a long way in keeping our oceans healthy, both today and for future generations.
